Rongjiang is particularly popular for its lively Sunday market. You will probably see villagers from neighboring minorities (wearing their traditional costumes) coming to town to do business. But the Rongjiang region is also known for its many small, authentic villages.

Xiajiang Market
This fantastic market is a veritable gathering point for the surrounding Miao and Dong villages. On the way to your destination, you will see many villagers climbing into their boats to go to the Xiajiang market.

Pingyong Market
Among the crowds of this lively market is a veritable cocktail of Miao, Shui and Dong minorities, all wearing their colorful costumes and traditional jewelry, who are sure to make your day very exciting!

Chejiang
This riverside village will reveal the tallest Drum Tower in the region. Local life is pleasantly traditional: women wash clothes in the river in the afternoon in the shade of magnificent century-old trees, livestock roam freely in the streets.

Kongshen “Mini-skirt” Miao Village
The particular costume of the Miao people living in this village justifies the nickname of this tribe of “mini-skirt miao”.

Baibei Miao Village
The charm of this small mountain village lies in its houses on stilts huddled against each other, but also in the colorful splendor of the festival costume of the aptly nicknamed “miao feather jacket of the hundred birds”.

Bameng Pier
A small Shui village that benefits from insulation by water in a natural setting of bamboo and banana trees.

Yintan Dong Village
This small village hidden deep between the mountains and their bamboo and fir forests is particularly well preserved. The houses, bordering the stream, are of a very traditional style.
